Your partner in community health

It starts with compassionate care

As a family-owned Kiwi business, Healthvision has been leading the way in community health services for over 25 years, bringing together expert care and a compassionate approach that leads to positive outcomes for you, your whānau and your community.

Our purpose is to make a meaningful difference in people’s day-to-day lives through quality home and community healthcare.

From humble beginnings…

Established in 1999 by Sue Doherty, a registered nurse who identified a need for quality and responsive home-based care services, Healthvision continues to support grassroots action and values community-based and family-orientated healthcare. Sue began her mission to provide clinical expertise in the home, grounded in a philosophy of listening, understanding and providing quality, empathetic care. Healthvision now provides nationwide services for thousands of New Zealanders, with a strong sense of community at the heart of the organisation.

Hauora and Healthvision

Hauora is a unique Māori view of health and covers the physical, mental, social and spiritual needs that everyone has. Māori believe that each of these four concepts supports the others.

Heraraumati’s story

“I have vivid memories of many close whānau members not receiving the care they needed when they needed it. This led to their early passing and has created emotional scars for our whānau, leaving us struggling with grief and anger at the way they were treated in the health system.

These experiences ignited a fire within me; to improve Māori home healthcare services.  I wanted to care for our people in a dignified manner through supporting ngā mātāpono Te Tiriti o Waitangi.”

Our waiata

Our Healthvision waiata shares the “journey of healing from bone to skin, spirit to breathe upon navigation to wholeness”. I am grateful that my whānau's journey has resulted in working for Healthvision, which provides quality care for our people. They offer compassionate and sensitive care that results in better health and wellbeing of Māori people.

Ake ake mo ngā aroha.

Te Ao Hurihuri waiata

Te Ao Hurihuri waiata reflects on the ever-changing world. Regardless of how big our world extends, we will always fly high and cherish, celebrate, and embrace Healthvision four values for all to see.

Our tukutuku in the Auckland office represents te ao hurihuri – an ever-evolving world. It was gifted to the Auckland office in 2019. The top panel represents the opening to newness, reformation and regeneration, the middle panel represents kei waenganui ko koe – at the centre is you, and the bottom panel represents newness reflected.
